D-WALL CONSTRUCTION & ADVANTAGES

Top Down Construction Techniques

D Diaphragm walls are particularly suited to the construction of very deep retaining walls and often seen together with ‘top down’ construction techniques. These allow building work to take place above ground, while deep excavation work continues at the same time.

Diaphragm walls generally provide a high level of leak protection to deep foundations.

KAMAR has carried out major diaphragm wall projects on landmark infrastructure projects, such as (DELHI, CHENNAI, LUCKNOW) METROS, the GOMTI RIVER PROJECTS AND THE BJP HEADQUARTERS PROJECTS DELHI .

    ADVANTAGES & APPLICATIONS

  • Ideal for top down construction projects.
  • Can be installed in virtually all soil conditions including high strength rock.
  • Reduced noise and vibration compared to other shoring techniques such as sheet piling.
  • Very accurate method of construction with high tolerance levels.
  • Removes the requirement of dewatering the site.
  • Can be used in the immediate vicinity of existing buildings.
  • Can be designed to carry structural loads thereby reducing the foundation costs.

Most Common Application For D-Wall Are :

  • Deep Basements
  • Underground Carparks and Railway Stations
  • Tunnel Approaches
  • Underpasses
  • Shaft for Tunnel Ventilation
  • Pump Station
